A site survey can be arranged to assess the standard of installation of generators. TEC’s qualified mechanical and electrical engineers are capable of carrying out all necessary remedial works to bring any installation up to current specifications and regulations.

We are able to undertake site constant load/power monitoring including real-time, peak and average kW, amps, volts, power factor and kVA, kVAR and harmonic distortion.
This survey is critical to ensure that any existing or proposed equipment can support your site load and its characteristics.

Maintenance and Repairs.

The need for contingency power systems to safeguard for example data, crown properties, healthcare and critical processes, has grown rapidly. TEC fully understand the importance of a robust power supply and can help identify the best methods to ensure that you and your business interests are well protected. Keeping your power systems regularly maintained is critical to ensuring they operate at peak performance when you need them to.

We can carry out repairs on site or remove the equipment back to our premises for major mechanical works. We can also upgrade control systems and components to more modern equivalents so that the end user can benefit from advances in technology whilst not having to purchase a new machine. All repaired or modified equipment is fully tested prior to its return to the customer.

TEC are able to undertake preventative maintenance & regular servicing on all makes of generating set, UPS system & ancillary equipment whether this be routine service inspections or major servicing and replacement of consumables. To prove any work carried out a load testing & re-commissioning service is available once the equipment has been repaired. All our engineers are fully qualified in all their skills with a focus on full safety awareness.

Taking a service contract with TEC ensures that come the occasion when you really need your generator to provide that vital source of electrical supply, you can be sure the equipment will start first time. Regular testing and planned preventative maintenance routines are all part of TEC’s service.

Each service contract is tailored to suit our customer's individual requirements whether the machine is running 24 hours a day or is on standby to act as back-up in the event of a power failure. Problems can be diagnosed and hopefully repaired and fixed "on site", without the set having to come back to TEC for service. This will result in less downtime and little or no inconvenience to yourself.

Load Testing

How do you know that your generator is performing at its rated capacity?

The only way to ensure that your equipment is in peak condition is to undertake regular load-testing at the rated load acceptance of the machine. It isn't enough to test your generators on a light load. You need to prove it will work perfectly under a realistic full load. We can test generators from 2kw to 2000kw - and we can do this on your site!

TEC can undertake load-testing of your equipment at a time convenient to yourself..

      Full rated load-test

    110% overload testing, 1hour in 12

     Impact load acceptance

Resistive / reactive load-test also available

Battery Analysis

We are able to undertake battery analysis on your generator and UPS batteries, whilst keeping the equipment online. The analysis includes link integrity, internal resistance, load-test to the battery and electrolyte hydrometer testing.

TEC – Training Providers

To comply with Health and Safety Regulations, employers are required to ensure employees receive training in the use of equipment.  Unfortunately, there has been a growing trend of injury to users and damage to equipment, primarily as a result of a training need.

In terms of Generator use we can provide:

On site client training for staff in the operation of generator equipment.

How to manually start your equipment.

All our other training courses are detailed within the website. If you cannot see the course you require, please contact us and we will assist you in any way we can

Health and Safety Consultancy

TEC are able to provide a full Health and Safety Consultancy to ensure you are regulatory compliant.  Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, Health & Safety Policy etc.

Fire Risk Assessments

You are probably aware that the Fire Regulations in the UK changed dramatically in 2005, with the onus now upon the individual business to ensure that the “Responsible Person” completes a Fire Risk Assessment.  This is a priority to ensure safety and maintain Insurance cover. TEC are able to complete a Fire Risk Assessment to comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

We at TEC value our customers and wish to thank you for your time whilst perusing this information.
